I know you try your best
And you work hard
You never stop to rest
It’s something I’ve admired most
Work Ethic and Drive
Something I’ve aspired to
And have always fallen short
I do not blame you for your shortcomings
Because you have actually tried
It was the expectations
That I could never live up to
And praise behind my back
When I didn’t know until later
That hurt the most
But we’ve talked
And you apologized
As you have always been humble — usually
So many of the things I was ever mad at you for— I have forgiven
You have always try to be there
A rock at times
You have been a good dad and it’s time for you to rest
